- Focusing on impact
Viable Action is a local, grassroots Private Voluntary Organization (PVO) registered and operating in Zimbabwe (PVO 44/22). Our headquarters is in Chipinge district and we are operating in the South Eastern districts of Manicaland province, Zimbabwe. We are currently having a presence in Chimanimani, Chipinge, and Buhera districts. As a community-based local organization, we support sustainable environmental management, nature-positive food systems, resilience building, disaster preparedness, and response, as well as climate justice. Our measures promote the health, well-being, safety, and survival of urban, peri-urban, and rural smallholder farmers, and vulnerable households as well as supporting healthy ecosystems. To achieve this, we work with a diversity of stakeholders, and we invest in building the capacity of community institutions, and structures. In our work, we support and uphold the value of Indigenous Knowledge Systems in the sustainable management of natural resources. In the face of recurring climate change- induced hazards and disasters, we strive to collectively build action-oriented capacity in child protection, disaster mitigation, preparedness, and response.
